Could Your Emotions Be Causing Physical Pain?

Have you ever woken up with a weird pain in your body?  The type of pain you couldn't explain how it got there, but you could definitely feel?   For days I had this weird pain on my upper back that literally felt like someone had a cigarette lighter held to it.  It burned and just felt weird.  And there was no explanation for why I was experiencing this pain.  Sometimes my lower back would hurt, even though I was completely fine the day before.  And other times, my chest would hurt, just out of the blue.

Dr. Bradley Nelson, in his interesting book, The Emotion Code: How to Release Your Trapped Emotions for Abundant Health, Love and Happiness suggests that your emotions could be causing you physical pain.  He discusses the concept of "trapped emotions", which are emotions that you feel, but are unable or unwilling to let go and release.  This emotional energy becomes "trapped" inside your physical body until it manifests itself into physical symptoms.   It is a form of "dis ease" in your body, which if left untreated, can turn into disease.

Fortunately, Dr. Nelson, provides a system for you to identify what emotions are trapped in your body.  This simple system involves asking your body (which itself is a living organism made up of billions of billions of atoms and trillions of cells) a series of "Yes" or "No" questions to identify what emotions are causing problems.

Dr. Nelson suggests the sway test to identify if the body is replying "Yes" or "No", whereby a "Yes" answer is from the body naturally swaying forward; a "No" answer is from the body naturally swaying backyards. Once you are conscious of it, you can ask yourself to clear the emotion from your physical body.  Becoming consciously aware of the trapped emotion is an important step toward healing.

Dr. Nelson then suggests asking your body if you are ready to clear the emotion.  Assuming your body is ready to release the emotion, Dr. Nelson explains a simple procedure you can do to help clear the negative energy from your physical body. Sometimes you feel instant relief.  Sometimes it takes a day or two to experience a reduction in pain.  Every time I've done it, I've always immediately felt a physical unburdening; my shoulders relax and I just feel lighter.
